I’m a girl in my mid-20s. I’m from New York and lived in New York City; now I’m in Providence, Rhode Island, where I’m a graduate student of environmental studies. I like books (obviously!), birds and bird-watching, red wine, Mystery Science Theater 3000, playing the Wii, and trying new restaurants. I’m a semi-professional volunteer (i.e, I’m underemployed) in a bilingual kindergarten classroom and an environmental education center.
I don’t like people who walk slowly in front of me during rush hour.
I’m passionate about super-good books, but probably write my best/funniest reviews about books that have personally offended me with their badness. I’m an advocate of badass female characters, non-wimpy vampires and werewolves, rip-roarin’ revenge, and dog characters not being killed/dying horribly.
My favorite genres include fantasy, science fiction, creative non-fiction, and whatever-the-hell “literary fiction” is.

For realsies: Unless specifically stated, all of the books reviewed on this site were either purchased by me, borrowed from the library, or received as presents from friends and family. I do this for fun and because I like talking about books.

Your reviews are good to read.
I find myself pretty much in agreement with a lot of what you said.
And yes, cheese, FTW!
i think i might love you. i found your blog by reading and rereading and searching for FOREVER by Peter. I was impressed by his book and impressed by your blog. i am listening to good music right now and i hope you are doing the same. A band called The Lumineers. Folky, sad bastard shit, but good shit. keep up the good work. keep reading good books. and dont ever give up.
